Kate Dunn, b.1993, Edgware, UK. 

My practice takes the form of painting, installation and writing. Often beginning with a narrative between creation and destruction, I pair painting with sound or structures to question our identity toward to devotion and faith.

My current series skin considers how we relate to our bodies whilst constantly consuming violence. The series takes place within a post-human world where debris and waste are being absorbed into nature. This biotic relationship breeds a new matter where the synthetic and organic are irreversibly enmeshed. This new matter breeds in a skin-like layer, quietly encasing the world that came before.

I hold the position of First Year Lead on the Bachelor’s of Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School, where I’ve taught since 2019.
